It's the time of year when things get jolly and bright and gift giving commences! It's definitely one of my favorite times of year, but occasionally I feel a little overwhelmed when it comes to finding reasonably priced, meaningful, or useful gifts for family and friends. Anyone relate? Despite the feeling, I enjoy the challenge of finding the right gifts to give. I've found that homemade holiday gifts are a sustainable and creative gift giving solution, and this year I'll be giving out a Holiday Masala Chai Kit. This blog post is part 1 of 2 holiday homemade gift ideas. Stay tuned for part 2 and 3, and don't forget to subscribe for more homemaking and momming inspiration.

Assembly
Step 1: Blend spices together. Here’s the ratio and combination of spices I use: cardamom, star anise, peppercorns, cloves, and cinnamon sticks. Make adjustments to the spice blend to accommodate your tastes. Feel free to add nutmeg and/ or allspice to the mix. Note: This picture features enough spices to flavor about 2-3 pots of tea (thats about 12-18 cups of tea) Depending on your tastes a little can go a long way.
Step 2: Pour tea in one jar and spice blend into another jar. Secure jars with lid.
Steps 3: Decorate jars with ribbon, twine, and greenery. Use greenery from your yard to save time and money.
Step 4: Print Holiday Chai Recipe Instructions and attach to jar’s ribbon.
